For fans of a traditional curry house, Bengal Lounge is a solid all rounder offering a range of dishes, plenty of sauce, and a reliably excellent flavour.
My personal favourite is the Bengal Paneer Special. Paneer and vegetables cooked in a spicy tamarind sauce, this is my immediate go-to, and just one of the many options if you’re a vegetarian.
For children, they are always willing to make their traditional food milder, or there are simpler meals available including chicken nuggets and omelettes. Alternatively, if you have children like mine, you’ll be grateful that they are willing to serve chips with every course!

Bengal Lounge is more than just a restaurant; it’s a community hub. The friendly staff are always happy to recommend dishes, share stories about Indian cuisine, and make you feel welcome. They understand that a meal is an experience, and they go the extra mile to ensure yours is a memorable one.
For dining with chidren, in the main restaurant area you’ll find a little stream complete with gold fish. This absolutely captivates my little girls and, while there is no children’s activities provided, these fish certainly give them a lovely experience!

For guests at Castle View and Garden Villa, you’re within the Bengal Lounge delivery range and they will get your food to you in good time. For guests at Squirrel Barn, as you’re outside the delivery range, this is a great opportunity to order a taxi and have a fun night out!
